Time is Running Out

Véronique Eberhart

Last weekend should have been graduation celebration from college for our oldest son. With this locked down, instead of the expected official gatherings and festivities, we ended up going down memory lane, browsing through pictures.

Where has the time gone?

When did these incredibly cute boys became young men having to shave?

Right now, we might think that life is at a stand-still. It isn't. Life goes on, always, with or without us.

We might be tempted to wait for this time to pass. Well, it will. Like everything else in life.

There is nothing we can do to prevent kids from growing up and parents from aging.

But there are things we can do to avoid the sting of the passing of time: Say YES to opportunities, growth, and new challenges. Say NO to doubt, fears, and backing down. And always be true to our highest potential.

One thing you won't read on my tombstone is "She could have, but never dared". I've often felt like a failure, never good enough, never accomplished enough. I know now, that it was the fertile ground from which I would grow and learn where I stand and what my gift is.

As I plow forward to the rescue of my own voice, I've learned a thing or two about what keeps us in the underdog position. And no, sorry to break it to you, it is not the other one, not 'him' nor 'her' nor 'them'.

It is this something in ourselves that we learned at some point in our life and that we made our own. A belief, a fear, an insecurity that tells us to dim our light, to be half a diva, a quarter of a queen so other people can be comfortable in our presence, so they will love us, so we will not be alone.

Does it ring true to you?

Maybe you want to be heard and seen, but you feel overwhelmed and you back up. You want more from life, but you're afraid that the cost will be too high. You want out of what makes you feel miserable, but you go back, over and over again.

It is not your fault ... but, should you accept the challenge of reaching your true potential, it is your responsibility to get out of your own way.

This is what I'm teaching in my course "Speak your Truth in this Time of Turbulence". ... to get out of your own way; to get rid of your fears, of your inner saboteur, and of your inner people's pleaser.

It can be a long and at times painful journey, but the light at the end of the tunnel is amazing.

You don't have to do it alone! If you're tired of it all, come and join me to "Speak your Truth in this Time of Turbulence".

The course starts on Wednesday May 20. All the details are HERE.

Time is running out...

With Joy and Gratitude,
